Breast augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty)

Breast augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty) is possible in a surgical way only. During the surgery round or anatomic (teardrop) shape breast implants may be used. The implants may be filled up with physiological or silicone gel. The surface of the impants may be even or textured. During pre-operative consultation implants are chosen individually for every patient, depending on the most convenient size and shape. A 3D computer simulation also can be performed.

• Duration of the surgery: approximately 1-2 hours.
• Anaesthesia: general anaesthesia (narcosis).
• Surgery: incisions for implant placement are made under the breasts or under the areolas of the nipples. Place of the incision is selected depending on particularities of patient's body built and patient's requirements. Implants may be placed under the breast glandular tissue or under the big breast muscle. The surgeon selects the most suitable method for every patient. Sometimes, a certain method of the implant placement can be selected according to the patient's requests. During the surgery the glandular breast tissue is not harmed; for this reason, there are no problems for patient's impregnation, giving birth and baby feeding in the future.
• Post-operative period:
  • Big post-operative pain is not characteristic.
  • Results are seen on the same day.
  • The patient is usually discharged on the next day.
  • Sutures are removed 7-12 days later.
  • The patient is able to come back to work few days later
  • Sports and harder physical activities are not recommended for 4 weeks.
  • It is necessary to wear a special compression bra for 4-6 weeks.

• Efficiency:
  • A long-term constant result remains after surgery if the patient keeps a stable bodyweight. 
  • Scars become almost unobservable some time later after the surgery.
