Buttock augmentation

Buttock augmentation is a procedure designed to round, accentuate, and slightly enlarge the buttocks. Buttock augmentation can be performed by injection of patient’s own fat (Brazilian butt-lift), or adding special implants.

The volume of fat that can be injected in the buttocks ranges from 200-600 cc. Of course, the greater the amount of tissue transplanted, the less likely it will all survive. Small incisions in between the buttocks are made in order for the buttocks to be enhanced with implants. The implants are placed into “pockets” formed in the gluteal muscles. Finally, the tissues are closed by suturing.

Usually patients get back to work after 1-2 weeks. We recommend patients avoid strenuous physical activity and sitting directly on the buttocks for 3-4 weeks. The cosmetic effect of buttock augmentation is long lasting, but to a large extent it depends on the patient’s lifestyle, diet and physical activity.
